The Manhattan Project brought revolutionary changes to the world by not only creating a terrible weapon and ending World War II with finite resolve; it also created an innovative power source that does not cause air pollution. This power source creates enough electricity for whole cities, and powers many super weapons. The Manhattan Project was the foundation of sixty years of the most dramatic technical advances the world had known to that point. Those advances were not without their share of mixed reactions. Consequently, whether you are for or against the advent of nuclear technology, the undeniable truth is that our existence has changed forever. Ultimately, with a greater understanding of this ominous power and the devastation that can result from unmonitored use, the world has had to wrestle with the necessary reforms that can prevent tragedy and encourage positive development.

“The world has achieved brilliance without wisdom, power without conscience. Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants."
